  • Our History
    Youth Empowerment Trust (YET) is a registered non-profit organization (Registration Number: MA300/861/2011) founded in August 2011. The organization was established in response to the extreme levels of poverty and unemployment affecting young people in Zimbabwe.

    We're Here for You
    The primary beneficiaries of YET programs are youths and young people who formally register for technical courses offered by the organization. The secondary target group consists of non-registered youths who participate in or express interest in non-technical activities and programs.

    Mr M Matemera -
    Project Coordinator
    A banker by profession, he brings 14 years of extensive experience gained from working in the banking industry before joining Youth Empowerment Trust (YET). His background in banking has equipped him with strong financial management, planning, and strategic decision-making skills that are invaluable to organizational development and sustainability.
    In addition to his financial expertise, he is a renowned Professional Counsellor with a deep passion for youth counselling and empowerment. His counselling work focuses on guiding young people through personal, social, and economic challenges, helping them build resilience, confidence, and positive life choices. He is also a qualified Chartered Logistician, bringing added strength in operations, supply chain management, and resource coordination.
    He possesses advanced skills in planning, budgeting, monitoring, and evaluation (M&E), and project reporting, enabling him to effectively design, implement, track, and report on development programs. His ability to analyse data and translate it into actionable insights supports informed decision-making and improved programme outcomes.
    Versatile and articulate in communication, he demonstrates strong organizational, interpersonal, and coordination skills, allowing him to work effectively with diverse stakeholders, including youth, community leaders, partners, and donors. As a team-oriented leader, he values collaboration, actively listens to others, and remains open to new ideas and innovative approaches, fostering an inclusive and productive working environment.

    Mr D Muzondo - Dressmaking Instructor
    Bringing his expertise in fashion design, Douglas skillfully merges artistic vision with practical techniques to mentor students in the craft of sewing. His dynamic approach to teaching empowers students to cultivate their styles and hone their artisanal skills

    Ms P Deka - Cosmetology Instructor

    Is a professional who trains and guides students in the art and science of cosmetology, encompassing hair, skin, and nail care for over 6 years. She imparts both practical and theoretical knowledge, preparing students to gain confidence and expertise needed in the beauty industry.

    Ms M Chiduku - Interior Design & Events Management Instructor
    Monica’s expertise and embracing of the latest trends, technologies, and best practices in interior design and events management, and integrating this knowledge into the curriculum, equips students to be more competitive and sustainable in the industry.

    Ms Makusha - Early Childhood Development Instructor

    Her passion for pre-school children motivates her to train teachers in Early Childhood Development, equipping trainers with the knowledge and skills to nurture the holistic development of young children, encompassing physical, social, emotional, and cognitive growth.

    Ms E Machino - Office Administration Attachie

    Evelyn`s ambition to be a top administrator enabled her to enrol with us for superb on the job training. She supports Administrative office in clerical tasks to support the smooth functioning of an office including answering phones, scheduling appointments, managing files, ordering supplies, and providing general support to staff and visitors.
